New to Antalya? A Gym Guide for Newcomers — F8 Training Studio, Konyaaltı Antalya

How do I join, and what documents do I need?

No documents at all. Annual contracts and upfront payments are common at gyms in Turkey; F8 has neither. Here's how it works:

  • Message us on WhatsApp or just walk in; no appointment needed.
  • The first class is free. We see your level and goal and suggest the right group.
  • If you want to continue, a monthly membership starts. Your name, phone number and an emergency contact are enough. No residence permit, ID copy or proof of address is asked for.
  • If you want to stop, you simply don't pay for the next month. No cancellation fee, no notice period.

Prices and payment

Memberships are monthly and every price is published on the site: adult group classes ₺6,000 per month, kids' and teens' group classes from ₺4,500, private lessons (kids or adults) ₺12,000. Payment is by cash or card at the studio. Nothing is charged for the trial class.

Payment is in Turkish lira; foreign currency isn't accepted. The fee doesn't depend on how many classes you attend in a month; whether you come twice a week or four times, it's the same membership.

I don't speak Turkish, or only a little. Is that a problem?

No. Three reasons:

  • Martial arts are taught by demonstration. The coach performs the technique, you repeat it; corrections are made by touch and by showing. That's how it works in every gym in the world.
  • You can message us in English or Russian on WhatsApp. Practical things like signing up, times and fees are sorted by message.
  • The site is in four languages. Turkish, English, Russian and Ukrainian; classes, prices and guides read the same in every language.

You'll pick up a few basic Turkish words at the gym without trying: "sol, sağ, ileri, geri, dur" (left, right, forward, back, stop). After the first month you won't notice what language the class is in.

For your kids: groups, times, fitting around school

Kids' and teens' classes run in 6–9, 10–13 and 14–18 age groups, on weekday evenings and at weekends to fit around the school day. For the younger groups, classes are built around play and coordination, with no partner work. Parents can watch the first class; after that it's optional.

For children who've just moved to a new country, a martial arts class has an extra benefit: a setting that needs no language, has clear rules, and brings them together with the same faces twice a week. For shy kids, or kids finding it hard to settle into a new environment, it's one of the places where confidence comes fastest. More: martial arts for kids.

Where is it, how do I get there, is there parking?

The studio is at Atatürk Caddesi No:464, Bahtılı, Konyaaltı; a few minutes from Uluönder and Hurma, 10–15 minutes from Akdeniz University and the Liman area. Atatürk Caddesi is Konyaaltı's main avenue, so the address is easy to give a taxi driver: "Bahtılı, Atatürk Caddesi" is enough.

  • By car: free parking right in front of the studio.
  • By public transport: most Konyaaltı bus routes run along Atatürk Caddesi; you pay with an Antalya Kart (the city transport card).
  • On the map: listed as "F8 Training Studio" on Google Maps, Apple Maps and Yandex Maps.

What the studio offers, and what to bring

Shower, toilet and changing room; a free café for members (water, tea, filter coffee), free gym and shower towels, free Wi-Fi. You can come straight from work or the beach and leave showered after class.

Sports clothes and water are enough for the first class; the gym has gloves. Muay Thai and MMA are trained barefoot, boxing and kickboxing in trainers. You buy your own gear later; the coach tells you what to get, so don't rush it.

Which class should I start with?

The studio runs Muay Thai, kickboxing, boxing, MMA and functional training; the martial arts classes are led by Turkey National Muay Thai Team Coach Doğukan Siler. If you've never done a combat sport, kickboxing or boxing is the easiest way in; you'll find which suits you in the comparison guide. If you're undecided, come to the free session of two different classes within a week; it makes a better decision than reading.

When you message us on WhatsApp, this is all we need: your age, whether you've done sport before, your goal (conditioning, weight loss, self-defence, something for your child) and which times suit you. We'll suggest the rest.
